how much would it cost to get a heater and ac installed in a 67' vw bus. How much would it cost to put a heater in a 1967 vw bus?Unless you live in the snow country the vw does not need an aux. heater. The engine heater works just fine.
BUT.. the damn cooling system was too efficient for VW and if you lived in the snow or had snowy and icy winters the engine often never got hot enough... great for the engine.. really bad for you.
So... vw actually made a separate gas fired heater that went in the engine compartment to the opposite sideof the battery.
If you can find one of those you will be warm but you mileage will suffer as the heater drew fuel from the gas line.
Had one of those things in my 1959 bus.. worked just great in the mountains.but totally unnecessary except in winter.
..How much would it cost to put a heater in a 1967 vw bus?I took this question to bust a myth about VW heaters in air cooled engines.
Just use the stock heater from the air box.
Fortunately, a universal A/C system works on a Bus, but it does take a lot from the motor at low engine speeds. The whole deal should not be more than 1200 - 1400 bucks anything over 1500 is too much being that the kit is only about half that and the rest allows for labor.

A VW Bus heater will work fantastic so long as you have the heater tubes hooked up which everyone disconnects. Disconnecting these tubes does not provide better cooling for the engine, but will greatly effect the heater. The heater does take a little while to get really cooking but you know what? I was coming back from CO and stopped overnight in beaver UT. I was so cold that I was about ready to build a bonfire inside my bus. A guy who worked at the store (only one that was open in the middle of the night) was a VW enthusiast, owned several bugs, and actually had some extra tubes in his ride that I bought. Freezing, I hooked them up and withing 25 min the inside of the cab went from sub zero tempretures up to nice and toasty.to the point where it hurt because my toes were giving that pins and needle thaw out. VW heaters work great, just not instantly, providing you keep them hooked up!How much would it cost to put a heater in a 1967 vw bus?you could put something like a propane heater on the bus. It would cost less than a $100.
