How to fix a stuck glove compartment latch on a 2002 VW Beetle?

One of the latches on my glove compartment is stuck making it impossible for the door to stay close. Does anyone else have this problem? Is this something that I can fix on my own or do I have to take it to the dealership? How to fix a stuck glove compartment latch on a 2002 VW Beetle?GO TO A LOCKSMITH OR HARDWARE STORE AND ASK FOR "CARBON GRAPHITE POWDER". IT COMES IN A SMALL TUBE AND IS A FINE BLACK POWDER GOOD FOR LUBRICATING PLASTIC ON PLASTIC OR OTHER TIMES WHEN OIL WON'T DO.

NOW IT'S MESSY SO I'D SUGGEST YOU HAVE A VACUUM AVAILABLE.

YOU PUFF A BIT ON THEN COMPLETELY CLEAN IT AWAY.

IT'S WORTH A TRY AND CHEAPER THAN A NEW COVER.

GOOD LUCK!How to fix a stuck glove compartment latch on a 2002 VW Beetle?Replace the glove box lid. Latch is not sold separately at the dealer. You may need to transfer the lock from your old latch or you can order a new one but programing the key coding is needed.
