How do I remove the door panel on a 1999 VW jetta?

I have the screws removed from top and bottom and the plastic attachment things popped out. The armrest area is stuck! What gives? How do I remove the door panel on a 1999 VW jetta?Look for a "plug" a small peice of plastic that will have a cut out around it. Pop that up w/ a small screwdriver or a pick. Under that there might be a small screw. If you cannot find a plug, then the only thing holding the armrest on are "clips". They are fragile so try not to pull to hard. They are very inexpensive to replace if they do break, and they are easy to find.

If this didn't help you, just call your local body shop and they will be able let you know.

Hope this helps..How do I remove the door panel on a 1999 VW jetta? There are two bigger philips head screws underneath the armrest. You need to pry off part of the armrest to get to them.

This might be tough to describe:

On the part that you grab to close the door (from the inside) there is a strip that is about an inch or so wide, right down the middle. Start from the top and get a flat tool (a screwdriver if you have nothing else) and be careful, this edge is somewhat easy to deform (it wont look to bad either way).

Once you have it started just work it off of the armrest. It will come pretty easy. There are two screws and a switch for the power windows and the power mirrors. Remove the screws and lift off the door panel, (I am assuming the rest of the screws, the speaker and door lock post have been removed " the armrest is stuck").

Disconnect the plugs fromt he two switches if you have them and the door panel will be free.

There you go, if you have any more questions about the window regulator you are probably trying to troubleshoot, just let me know.
