Why is my 2003 VW Golf having trouble shifting into 4th gear?

I am having problems shifting into 4th gear of my 2003 VW golf. When I try to shift, the clutch is completly engaged and the gears grind a little bit. Some have said it is the 4th gear syncro, but im not sureWhy is my 2003 VW Golf having trouble shifting into 4th gear?Oh, it's the syncro. Good luck with pulling the tranny apart. Tell me how it goes, my 2000 GTI needs a new syncro in 2nd and 3rd from racing.Why is my 2003 VW Golf having trouble shifting into 4th gear?that very well could be it,but it may also have to do with the adjustment of the clutch also,it shouldn't grind in any gear at all,try checking the fluid for the master cylinder for the clutch ,and see if its low,it may just need fluid added to it,if that don't help it ,it could very well be the syncro,s in the transmission going bad,especially if it does it all the time ,good luck on it.
