Is VW going to sell that 80mpg car they have in the US?

I read about a car VW has in Europe that get like 80 mpg runs on diesel. Is ig going to be available in the US anytime soon?Is VW going to sell that 80mpg car they have in the US?I doubt the car would pass the particulate emissions standard recently enacted by the EPA. Many manufacturers tried selling diesel cars in the US in the 80's, and were unsuccessful in persuading US buyers to purchase them. It would be difficult for Volkswagen to justify the expense in modifying the car if the sales volumes would be low.Is VW going to sell that 80mpg car they have in the US?
It certainly should be available here unless the oil companies pull their usual devious ploys and have some government shill make it ineligible for import. Is VW going to sell that 80mpg car they have in the US?http://www.truckblog.com/story-1162-zero鈥?/a>Is VW going to sell that 80mpg car they have in the US?
lets hope so ford makes a crewcab ranger in brazil with a 3.0 powerstroke diesel that gets 45 mpg when i wrote them about it they said that the us market doesn't want that.

Lets see put 45 mpg ranger on the market and see if it sells here . You wouldn't be able to build them fast enough. Is VW going to sell that 80mpg car they have in the US?12 Doubt it. It probably is a 1000cc engine.

Too little horsepower. Mind you my '82 Rabbit diesel(non-turbo) got me 74 mpg on the highway....and that was a 1600. Not complaining.
