How hard would it be to swap a 1971 VW transpoter engine and transaxle with a similar year porsche?

I am looking to swap my 71 transporter's engine and transaxle with one from a similar year porsche. How hard will this be? Is it even possible? What would be the hardest parts? I am doing it for the better gas mileage of the 5 speed, so is there any similar 5 speed that would be easier or cheaper to swap?
