What is the difference between the 2003 - 2005 VW Beetle and 2005 onwards?

Noticed that 2005 onwards of the VW Beetle states "New Shape" but I can't really see the difference. What is the difference between the 2003 - 2005 VW Beetle and 2005 onwards?Having owned both New Beetle models, I can say that the basic car is the same. Personally, I liked the older model (1999-2005) The new (2006+) model does have slightly different fender shape and a more squared off look. The engine options have diminished down to the TDI or a 5 cylinder fuel injected 2.5 Liter. Rumours are that the beetle will recieve a Major redo in 2010.
