Does not having maintenance records void my VW warrenty for transmission repair?

My 2006 jetta, with 43,000 miles is currently having some form of transmission problem....... I am worried that because I have no oil change records (though my oil was changed in a timely manner), that my warranty will be voided and VW will not pay for the repairs.

Is this a possibility? If so is there any solution? PLEASE help!!Does not having maintenance records void my VW warrenty for transmission repair? The transmission may or may not have required a fluid and filter change in only 43K miles. They should not request OIL (engine) change records for a trans repair. HOWEVER, if you had an engine problem and you did not have the records then yes it may pose a problem. Just because its under warranty dont expect them to just fix it. If the problem is due to lack of maitenance/lubrication then it wont be covered. The maintenance receipts are to show them you did your part. If you had a company (dealer, lube joint) do the oil changes I would request a copy of the receipts for your own records. If you did the oil changes yourself, keep a log of the date and mileage you did the oil change and a copy of the receipt showing you purchased the oil/filter.Does not having maintenance records void my VW warrenty for transmission repair?
it might be a problem, check in ur car guide booklet they give you and look up maintenance, there u will see a mileage and what maintenance procedure to do for that mileage, if there is a procedure to do for that mileage and u didnt do it then it might give the dealership a loophole to not cover it under warranty but i would still check the dealership because normally the vehicle has a longer warranty for powertrain and transmission is a powertrain. good luckDoes not having maintenance records void my VW warrenty for transmission repair? If you did the oil change at any vw dealer they have the records. If you did at a regular oil place as I do, then I had no issues with warranty work. If I was in your place I would take it and see what the VW dealer has to say.Does not having maintenance records void my VW warrenty for transmission repair?
