Stability Control is off. I have an issue with my Steering Angle Sensor in my '03 Jetta. It comes on at random times. Soon to be replaced. Does your light come on at random times too? If so, you go to a shop and ask about having the Steering Angle Sensor checked out.What does the VW dashboard warning light that looks like a triangle with a circular arrow mean?Pretty sure you have turned off the traction control, you should have a button on the dash or centre console to switch it back on.My European Golf has a push button under the centre vents marked " ESP" push in when you have the engine running and all the other warning symbols have gone off, you should see your warning triangle disappear.
