VW passat 2000 Car wont start and its not the battery?

I drove to my friends house today and i parked my car in his driveway. About a hour later i leave to start my car and when i turn it over no sound, no clicking just dead silence. I tried jumping it and my terminals are clean and tight. The radio in the car turns on and the headlights are bright when i turn the lights on. But when i open the door my inside lights don't come on and i cannot get them to turn on.
