Any car that has a turbo/supercharger usually requires higher octane fuel. You can put low octane in it - but eventually your valves will clutter, and there's a chance that you will build up gunk in your fuel system. these people don't know waht they are talking about.. octane represents the resistance to explode.. the higher octane the higher the ressitance to explode.. on your dash it should say "unleaded fuel only" or if your car requires premium it will say "premium fuel only" also if you know comp. ratio and how much boost the turbo produces will help you to decide what fuel you need.. burning regular will not make fuel filter or anything plug up... also if you want to save a buck or two in the long run get a ethanol kit for your car.. it has a way higher octane rating 110 usually and is cheaper! but if you don't race the car and drive normal you shouldn't have a problem with regular... any other questions just ask!I have a vw beetle turbo is it true that it will only burn premium or can I burn regular gasoline?You can use regular. The engine ECU will adjust timing automatically. You will have a small performance hit, and possibly a small fuel economy hit. Measure your economy and try different brands.
