I am trying to replace the water pipe in my 1999 vw jetta. It looks like I have to remove the AC compressor?

It looks like I have to remove the AC compressor?I usually just put the greenery in my water pipe, then light the end and inhale.I am trying to replace the water pipe in my 1999 vw jetta. It looks like I have to remove the AC compressor? You don't have to remove the ac compressor. Some people have done it without removing anything except two radiator hoses that are in the way. A lot of people fine it easier to remove the bumper, radiator/ac condenser, and radiator support. I will vouch for doing it that way. We recently rebuilt my engine, here is a pic that shows the location of the pipe you are talking about. It's the long horizontal one in the middle. We didn't get it properly seated, but didn't find out until the car was almost put completely back together.

Its a PITA to get it sealed, as the pipe is just pushed into the block.
