First off...VW is a bad choice for a car...but any ways... To get thi lights working you have to figure out the problem bad wire? blown fuse? blown bulb? ...the hazzard lights work (they should click on and off) if theyre clicking sparatically then somethings wrong with them. if you cant figure out the problem yourself by checking the things i listed above (usually its just a bad bulb or fuse) then you need to take it to your dad(dads are good at stuff like that, my dad fixes things on cars and hes not even a mechanic) or to a professional..How do I get my signal lights working on my 2001 VW Passat? The signal lights and the hazards work off the same unit. It is most likely located on the fusebox. A plastic square box. Pull them off and put back in the same place one by one. See if that helps. Otherwise you will have to replace it. It is easier to buy the unit and then find it on the car.
If the hazards and the flashers don't work(even together) then it is the unit. Any auto supply should have one for a VWHow do I get my signal lights working on my 2001 VW Passat? I had the same problem. I did have a blown fuse and that was the reason the lights would not turn on (the hazards worked the whole time throught problem) I was still having problems with one light but then after taking out the bulb and looking, i saw a little bit of rust on one of the metal prongs on the ''bulb holder'' (sorry for lack of term) but i basically just picked at the rust w/ my nail and put the bulb in and out a few times, sometimes really tight, sometimes a little lose till the current went to the bulb.
