Hey I have a 2001 vw jetta and I am wondering how I can take the stock door speakers off??I removed the door panel but the speakers do not have screws that u can take of with a Philips or flat or any type of screw driver they have some other type of mushroom heads looking nails or something like that ...How can i remove my stock speakers on my vw jetta?The stock speaker assembly is riveted to the door metal. The only way to remove it is to drill out the rivets. When you install a new speaker, you'll need to use a spacer or bracket like this one:
