Where can I get spare parts for my 2000 VW Cabrio?

I just bought a used 2000 Cabrio. I have never had a car this old, and some of the little quirks are annoying me. the cupholder is broken, the auto locks don't work, the headlights are yellowed and foggy, just to name a few things.

someone told me i could go to a salvage yard and pick parts off another VW...problem is, i can't find a VW in a salvage yard!

Is my only choice to order these parts from the dealer? isn't that the most expensive way to go?

are there some internet sites that would have these parts? i've already tried craiglists and ebay...there doesn't seem to be a lot out there.Where can I get spare parts for my 2000 VW Cabrio?ebay or craigslist can be pretty good. There's also http://www.car-part.com where hundreds of salvage yards host their inventory information and you can check for it online.

There are some VW specific salvage yards (1 or 2) but they usually overcharge for stuff.

http://www.germanpartshaus.com/ is a VW specific salvage yard in N. Cal (sacramento area)

I should add that http://www.vwvortex.com also has a parts for sale forum that's pretty active.
