I JUST got my licence and really want a VW bus. How can i make it safe enough for a new drivers everyday car.How much would it cost to install airbags or other things for safety to a VW bus.?OMG. Don't be so paranoid wear your seat belt like the rest of us with out airbags. You'll be fine.

If you want to put air bags on a vintage VW bus, foggetabout!
Even if you could install air bags, it would not make it a safe vehicle. Just look how air bags are incorporated in cars. There is just no place to do this in an old VW.
