1999 vw jetta with automatic transmission the car runs great through first, second, and third gear. it will not shift up to fourth. what might the problem be?Have a 1999 VW jetta with automatic transmission wount shift to fourth?whats the color of the fluid it red theirs a few things it could be like engine coolant temp sensor and mass air flow sensor or a solonide in the tranny a bad power train control module..........if the fluid is black the 4 th gear clutch is smoked and you need a rebuild i recomend a remain unit the best at drive power in newnan ga 1600.00and get some local shop to rnr it and a new tranny cooler bypassing the raidator.aamcogod@yahoo.comHave a 1999 VW jetta with automatic transmission wount shift to fourth?Low on fluid.
