I have owned both the new beetle body style and 2 of the classic beetles.



My "new beetles" personalities were zippy and playful. Go, go, go!



My classic beetles personalities were easy going, attention getters. It's like they know they come from solid stock as they were created for longevity and were of course the "peoples car". Strong bloodlines and humble all at the same time LOL.



Now for the Classic Beetle owner's personality. Speaking for myself and for the multitude of VW bug owners that I speak with regularly: we are a bit of old souls. We love nostalgia and see the value in simplicity. We have a tendency to be frugal people who still love a little attention now and again. We can spend hours searching for exactly the right accessory for our little cars and we love to tell anyone who asks about our adventure finding the part. We enjoy communing with other people who love the Bugs and it is very seldom that we won't invite you to "check the car out". We are generally very friendly open and welcoming people. We love seeing the smiles on the older generations faces as they share their Bug stories with us. We also love to watch kids crane their necks to try and catch a glimpse of these rare little cars. We are pretty laid back people too.



The New Beetle owners are a bit different from the Classic Beetle enthusiasts. These are people who generally lead a faster paced life and yet still want the pep and a hint of the nostalgia of the older Beetles. Their personalities are generally youthful and fun, but a bit practical too (need to have the airbags and air conditioning). They'd rather have a mechanic handle their vehicle upkeep rathering than pulling out the faithful "How to Keep Your VW Alive" book and grabbing their toolbox.What type of personality does a VW beetle have?
