Looking for a vehicle with the power of a crown victoria and the space of a vw bus?

I drove an old police car for a while, and really liked the power it had, but now I'm looking for something better for trips. I knew a woman with an old vw bus, which was perfect size (not a hug van, but big enough to hold things as well as comfortably stretch out and sleep in) but the engine left a lot to be desired. The only other van I've driver is a Cheve Express, and that just never felt very powerful.
