What are the different types of VW engines?
I'm buying a used VW, but have no idea what the different kinds of engines are. you know like GLS, GLX, TI and all those. If someone could help me out with all of those (even the ones i didn't mention), that would be great! What are the different types of VW engines?I'm assuming you are talking about a Jetta, so that's what I'll start with. GL, GLS, GLX, TDI are all trim levels, not engines, but they can include different engines. Circa 2000, a base GL would come with a 2.0L none turbo with around 120hp. The next step up would be the 1.8t, which would be badged as such (not sure what trim level came with those), which is a 1.8 litre turbocharged and intercooled 4 cylinder making 180hp. The next engine would be the VR6, which is a narrow angle V6, making roughly 200hp. Lastly is the TDI, which is a 1.9L turbo diesel. It makes about 90hp, making it the slowest of the four options, but it is also capable of getting upwards of 50mpg, and is much more reliable than VW gasoline engines. Quickest would be the VR6, but just barely, but the 1.8t is the best of the gasoline engines.spongebob games online
