Does a VW new beetle have many problems?

I am thinking of getting one for my first car. im in love with the VW New Beetle; im wondering how many problems does it commonly have? does it drive well in the winter? does it really get good gas milage? does it have a certain point of milage when it starts breaking down? and all the other fun questions that a first time buyer needs to know.Does a VW new beetle have many problems?I have owned two New Beetles so far, and currently own a 2007 NB. I have never had any major problems with either. I know a lot of people with NBs, and I have noticed that when it comes to Volkswagen, you either get a fantastic car that will never let you down or you get a pile of junk that does nothing but let you down. As far as whether it drives good in the snow, the answer is yes. Despite what someone else's answer stated, the car is VERY HEAVY (over 3,000 lbs.) and is front-engine and front-wheel drive, which makes for a wonderful and easy drive in the snow! The best gas mileage I have heard of for a non-diesel NB is 25 to 35. I usually get 26 to 30, with a mixture of city and highway driving.Does a VW new beetle have many problems?
Ohhh yes it does, like any other car. For the frst couple of years it will be great especially while it is under warranty. Quick tip- the 2008 model beetles come with a 4 year 50,000 mile limited warranty and the 2009 model will come with a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty but will have the maintenance included for those years. Your best bet will be to buy a 2008 model because the interior trim is what will mainly let you down after about 2 years like the door panel will bubble and fall apart, VW headliners fall down easily and the fuse panel on top of the battery corrodes and melts easily. They are however good on gas, great for a first car because of their size, very safe, and reliable. I have seen the worst of the worst at VW and I still drive one. They are in a league of their own for the price and the way they drive. Maintenance is key for a VW as long as you can financially make the commitment to take care of the car you will have little or no issues.Does a VW new beetle have many problems? It is reliable, fuel efficient, and a great car.

It is a German car so maintenance is a little more expensive and they do have minor electric problems.

It should be fine in winter because it is light so it should not easily sink in snow.

There is no certain mileage where they start breaking down.Does a VW new beetle have many problems?
I think conceptually it's a great car but I think the reliability is a bit sub par. If you're only going to keep it for the duration of the original factory warranty, you should be fine. I have an 2008 R32 and it's very reliable if that's an indicator.Does a VW new beetle have many problems? They have so many problems and safety issues, as a Toyota salesman I haver had 6 almost new ones come in to trade and take giant losss without caring as they just wanted out!Does a VW new beetle have many problems?
